We are writing today to let you know about an important and exciting change for our Company. Beginning this week and for the next several weeks, we will be transitioning the management and ownership of the three The Whole Dog Market ATLANTA stores to Pet Wants Alpharetta, a locally owned pet health and wellness retailer, led by Sergio and Nick. The Whole Dog Market Homewood, AL will continue to operate independently as it does now. The Atlanta stores will remain open during this transition and will continue to sell many of the same products you are currently buying.
We are truly grateful for your patronage over these past 14 years! It is due to you, our amazing customers, and our excellent staff that we have been able to serve you for this long. We are so thankful to you and ask that you continue to shop with the new owners for another 14 years and beyond.
What’s changing?
The Atlanta stores will remain open and continue offering many of your favorite products and self-wash.
Our amazing staff will stay on board.
Pet Wants will gradually introduce their own small-batch dry food, while maintaining a strong frozen raw selection.
The Whole Dog Market in Homewood, AL, will continue to operate independently.
Who is Pet Wants Alpharetta?
The new owners (Sergio and Nick) are longtime Atlanta residents and small business owners like us. They are passionate about pet nutrition and excellent customer service. Sergio and Nick are supported by the national retail franchise, Pet Wants. Pet Wants was established in 2015 and has grown to more than 150 locations in 34 states. Sergio and Nick will bring great energy and care to the stores and meet your needs!
Why the change?
As you may know, Jean, Eileen, and Stephen own both The Whole Dog Market and Farm Hounds. Farm Hounds is a pet treat manufacturing company that has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years. We expect this growth to continue, and it will require all of our focus to manage that growth to its full potential. While managing Farm Hounds, it has become more and more challenging to give WDM the attention it requires.
